The Icaro Ecology forest was born from the urgent and constant need to make a tangible and significant contribution to a more sustainable world. Despite operating in the field of reclamation, using the principles of the circular economy in every area and implementing various research in the field of green technology, our company uses (even if as little as possible) fossil energy carriers. This is why we at Icaro Ecology pay great attention to our carbon footprint and always try to reduce and compensate for it.
This forest is a new way - certainly not the last - to improve the company's carbon footprint and thus contribute to a better world. Everyone's future is at risk and it will not just be words, international meetings or rules that will guarantee a healthy world for future generations, we are convinced that a fundamental part are the "small gestures" that companies or individuals make every day . This is our way of demonstrating that our words are always followed by concrete initiatives.
INVESTMENTS IN TERRITORY
Icaro Ecology pays a lot of attention to its territory because it is aware of its complexity.
Contributing to the development of an area means improving infrastructure, increasing environmental sustainability, encouraging investments, creating new jobs, but it also involves the training of aware, sensitive and intelligent generations.

MARINA DI GELA CONSORTIUM
By joining this consortium the company wants to actively participate in the valorization of a currently underdeveloped but fundamental area of the city of Gela and has made a great contribution in this regard by providing a free project that included the port area in its entirety (link to the project ).

In 2016 the company commissioned a local artist, Roberto Collodoro, to create a work within the industrial area of the Gela Biorefinery.
The work Lifegate depicts the connection between heaven and earth, it aims to be an image of growth, evolution but above all a request for forgiveness from nature. The man is not seen as something negative by the creatures of the forest, but he is looked at with curiosity and trust, like a researcher. Lifegate wants to be a representation of the city of Gela, of a land that wants to look forward, like the gaze of Aeschylus, which guides beyond the ugliness and pollution that has characterized the territory for too long.
Evidence of this is a spontaneous initiative undertaken to celebrate the 2,700th anniversary of the Gela family, in which the company donated 27 hand-decorated tiles and the multimedia system to the city for the promotion of assets of cultural and tourist interest. The 27 tiles are still scattered around the city, positioned in points of historical and cultural interest.
Experience has shown that Icaro Ecology has the potential to go beyond. Beyond the sown, the known, beyond the calculated and the certain. He can go further and be better than himself, better than what he has built. Experience has shown that it can be done independently, but that it is much more satisfying to do it together with partners who look at the same horizon and who contribute to redesigning a better community.
For years Icaro Ecology has been involved in social issues by supporting one association in particular: the Educational Center Balù, a psychoeducational center for children and teenagers contributes to the growth of many young people and very young people with complex educational needs.

BALÚ EDUCATIONAL CENTER
It is a psychoeducational center born from the will of three young professionals who decided, after years of experience, to design a new reality to provide local families with an effective response to the educational needs of a child with complex educational needs.
